Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational & Technical Qualification:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th class) in the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board.
- Technical Qualification: Must possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade affiliated with NCVT or SCVT.
2. Age Limit (As on 23/03/2026):
- Minimum Age: 15 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years
Age Relaxation:
- SC / ST: 05 Years
- OBC: 03 Years
- PwBD: 10 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: 10 Years + Service Period + 03 Years (subject to a minimum of 6 months of service).
Selection Process
The recruitment of Western Railway Act Apprentices will be based strictly on a Merit List. There will be NO written test or interview.
- Merit Calculation: The merit list will be prepared by taking the average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.
- Tie-Breaker Rule: In the event of a tie in marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If the Date of Birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation examination earlier will be considered first.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
