Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

• Constable: 10+2 (Class 12th) or its equivalent from a recognized education board/university.
• Ex-Servicemen: The minimum educational requirement for ex-servicemen is Matriculation (10th pass).
• Mandatory: All candidates must have passed the Matriculation test with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects.

Selection Process

The Punjab Police Constable selection process involves three main stages:

1. Stage I – Computer-Based Test (CBT): Consists of Paper I (100 marks) and Paper II (Qualifying Punjabi Language Test – 50 marks).
2. Stage II – Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Screening Test (PST): Qualifying in nature. Involves measuring height and performing physical tasks like running, long jump, and high jump.

Salary Structure

Candidates selected for the Punjab Police Constable posts will receive a basic pay of Rs. 19,900/- under Level 2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, leading to an estimated monthly gross pay of around Rs. 29,500/- including applicable DA, HRA, and Medical allowances.
